NEW REPLACEMENT HOSPITAL – MULLINS, SC

Marion Regional Medical Center is located in Marion, South Carolina. Marion County is one of the poorest counties in the State and was struggling financially before building a new hospital. The project consisted of building several medical office buildings and a free standing, administration building that are independent to the new hospital, but connected through covered walkways to the main hospital. The concept was designed based on a new campus that focused on creating a pavilion / ambulatory care setting with multiple entrances convenient to parking and the medical mall. This project represented one of the first medical malls in South Carolina.

This project was published in Architectural Record Magazine and trade publications for its unique design and efficient operations. The facility was the first hospital in the Carolinas to be awarded the Pinnacle Award for the “Best of the Best” partnered project. This project was a GMP/CM process and was completed three months ahead of schedule. The design and construction team was credited with returning over a $1,000,000 at the completion of the project. Today, this hospital has been recognized as a leading example in design for a new community hospital.

We exceeded their goals and objectives. Standard and Poor’s recently ranked this hospital as having “solid operations with over 600 days of liquidity” with “historic operating stability and profitability”. Many communities have toured this hospital. The design reflects an operational model of efficiency and a “state-of-the-art” design with convenient access to services and parking.
