PHASE 1

Programming & Design

We collaborate with the users and key staff to develop functionality, ensuring proper flow, work space, and support functions. We also test and evaluate programs and square footage needs prior to finalizing the project scope and cost.

See Aspects

  • Develop options for a new campus vision
  • Facilitate selection of the preferred option
  • Provide phasing and implementation strategies for the preferred option
  • Estimate capital cost
  • Hold interim meeting(s) to review progress and to receive stakeholder input
  • Prepare a final or updated Facility Master Plan, if desired

PHASE 2

Construction Documents

We have developed quality review procedures that we use on all projects, not only in order to monitor quality, but also to provide constructive, timely input. We integrate formal quality reviews into the project plan, which are performed at appropriate intervals by the project team and by an independent peer evaluation team.

Reviews Include

  • Exterior building systems & details
  • ADAAG guidelines have been properly identified & addressed
  • Verify that U.L. Assemblies are properly identified & addressed
  • Interior partitions & major components
  • Coordination with engineering
  • Interior review of functional spaces & equipment locations

PHASE 3

Construction Administration

After the design is settled, we oversee the construction in order to make sure the project is completed on time and on budget.

Construction Administration Details

  • Key design team members perform construction administration roles, this maintains consistency throughout the project duration
  • Constructability review
  • Review project manual (bidding requirements and conditions of the construction contract)
  • Conduct regular team meetings; identify items that require additional input by discipline
  • Ensure that the design intent has been maintained throughout this process

Setting the Benchmark for a New Standard of Healthcare

Controlling cost and maximizing quality are critical when designing a modern healthcare facility, and we focus on both from the earliest planning phases of any project. Through years of research we have developed the EA Best Practice Matrix, benchmarking each of our projects against the latest evidence-based design criteria. We judge each project against 241 lean and sustainable factors, delivery methods and operational efficiencies, all of which impact facility performance and project success. Each factor falls under one of the following:

Tailoring A Team For Your Project

For all of our projects, we use a team approach, bringing together the best talent with the advantages of a small, yet equipped firm environment. Our highly-specialized firm creates a holistic approach for a better client experience. We are able to provide continuity, and are always available to listen and absorb input from our clients. Our goal is that our collaboration will also be used as an instrument to encourage collaboration, increase work-flow efficiencies, reduce stress in patients and staff alike, and ultimately, maximize your time. In addition to thoughtfully constructing the best-fitted design team for a project and beginning a comprehensive collaboration dialect between owners, users, and designers, we also turn our focus to evidence-based design, best practices, lean principles, and sustainability. Merging these fundamental components helps the team form the foundation for a successful design solution.
